Adrienne Barchard, DVM
Dr. Adrienne Barchard joined AECCCT in June of 2007. She is a graduate of Ross University and the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth. She is a Boston native who moved to the Toledo area in 2006 with Dr. Brent Couts, whom she met in veterinary school. They married in October of 2007.
Their household consists of 2 dogs, Hazel and Brinley, both of which were adopted from the Caribbean island of St. Kitts; Jetta, a three-legged boxer mix who was adopted from Animal Emergency; a manx cat named Alex who was adopted during their clinical rotations at Washington State University; a Caribbean-born calico cat named Manny; a Quaker parrot named Keno; Juliet, the cockatiel; three snakes (“we’re fostering them”); a Uromastyx, named Godzilla; two bustling fish tanks; and about 25 colorful leopard geckos. They also have a warm blood gelding that Dr. Barchard often rides in Oak Openings Metropark.
Dr. Barchard’s professional interests include internal medicine, critical care medicine, and anesthesiology. She plans to become certified by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in canine and feline medicine.
